As we get this ice season underway we really would be remiss with bringing up the issue of skin cancer and where it gets its start.

I would urge everyong who spends any time on the open ice for long periods of time to use some form of sun screen. This can be applied at home and will protect for long hours since sweating will be an unlikely factor. The stuff is simply good insurance. So to is the chapstick-like products with sunscreen.

Outdoor sports have grown dramatically over the last two decades and the incidence of skin cancer has increased proportionally. The stuff can disfigure and it can kill. Beofre you wonder if the ice you are going to try out is safe, be certain that your skin is safe....especially that of children being taken out on the ice.

I'm done harping now...lol
