Your avatar is saying 28 days 'til 1st ice. Currently, I'm walking the line on a date 14 days away for readily accessible ice in northern MN. For the Twin Cities, you may be right on the money man.

Who else has a 1st ice prediction???

I just updated tonight. 23 days till the metro season gets underway! This guy is ready!

I brought the boat up to my dads in cook on sunday. Lots of smaller lakes still trying to hang in there most if not all the medium and bigger lakes where wide open. It sure was fun having the H2O with and seeing what the lake names are that I have been driving by for the last 20+ years.

I used to pray for snow when I really like to ski & snowboard. Now all I care about is bitter cold. Where is it hiding! I'm sick... I knowww... Now where is the cold hiding at?

Like the countdown, but how does everybody feel about fishable ice up on LOW in two weeks?

I'm planning to get out on a sheltered bay up here Saturday. Guess that makes it a little less than THREE days and counting. Living in God's country does have one or two little advantages.

Was going to wait until tomorrow or Friday to uncover all my ice fishing gear from our horribly undersized shed (no garage built til spring and a bad wet basement ), but couldn't stand it, me just sitting here on Thanksgiving vacation trading barbs with all the rest of us clowns, so I just got out the trap II, strikemaster, hand auger and such. Heater works, auger works, snowmobile works, Vex works, blades on the Mora are oiled and sharp as razors, trap II doesn't have any more tears than it had last March, and all the rods/reels/tip ups are set up in the Croxton Pond bag.

I may even be more excited waiting to get away from the rellies up for the holiday and out on the ice than I was the night before deer season.

I am fishing on LOW within 2 weeks....I don't pray for things involving mother nature anymore ....

just heard from my group and the trip on the 10th is rock solid to LOW. I like the confindence and I will say I have heard of one fishing report that said they are pulling 14-16" eye out of 6ft of water around 4 mile. I guess the ice was a good 3", but is there such a thing as a good 3"

Well, I saw some people walking on battle creek yesterday 12/1. I don't think that lake should count, and I think those people are nuts!!! However, I do believe I'll be out on metro ice next weekend!!
