89Bronco
You'll love it however you cook it. We cut it up into chicken nugget-sized pieces, dip it in beer batter and fry them up golden brown. That is the best, but if you can't do fried foods, any baked or grilled recipe works. If you like walleye, you'll love halibut!
DaveyG
I love halibut. It's is absolutely my favorite fish to eat. I like to have it blackened. It's pretty easy to do. Just buy some cajun seasoning at the grocery store. shake a bunch of seasoning on both sides of the filets (it's spicy, so the more your use, the spicier your meal). Preheat the oven to 400. Get out a pan, turn the burner on high. Pour a little olive oil in the pan. Cook the filets for about a minute or so on each side (You're just sealing in the moisture. Blackened does not mean burnt). Then put the filets in a covered glass casserole dish and cook in the oven for about 10 minutes. I like to make a topping for the fish: cut up avocado, corn (just thaw some frozen stuff), capers, fresh ground pepper, and a little lemon juice. Just mix it up and spoon over the filets. It's kind of an avocado corn relish. Goes really nicely with the spicy fish.
BigDaddy
There are many good recipes. The easiest is the grill. I do not use foil. I oil the fish, black pepper, grill. This type of fish can be flipped on the grill, but I'd only flip it once. When cooked, add a little salt and fresh lemon juice and you're set. wallayewolloper
I just cooked it last night. Cut a small onion, split in rings and put on the fish. In a sauce pan melt 3 tablespoons butter, add a 1/2 cup of sour cream, and a splash of lemon juice. Heat till every thing is melted. Pour over fish. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake for 45 minutes at 375. Enjoy!!!!
