bobO
Now days there are some bigger flip style shacks out there and they get to be pretty heavy to drag out on the ice. No to mention the snow on the ice that you have to go through while pulling your shack behind you. My buddy and I have been making light weight sleds to put our fish traps and gear on.These sled help out a lot especially when you are walking out to you spot that might be out a mile from shore. Take any old pair of down hill skies cut them to length(depending on how big your sled is) take a couple 2x4 or 2x6s and stand them on end. two 2x's on end on each ski and then screw the 2x's in from the bottom of the skis. then take a piece of ply wood to make the deck of the sled.Make your deck just a little bit bigger than the length and width of your shack. screw 2x2's on the top around the outside of the ply wood, you can leave the front 2x2 off to make it easy to load your house. but 2x2 on all four sides will hold your house in place a lot better. next screw your deck onto the top of your 2x posts. attach a rope to the front two posts and your done.
