Devils Lake Report

First of all walleye fishing on Devils Lake continues to be excellent with a lot of walleyes moving into shallow water again. Crankbaits along weed beds have been great and slip bobbers have still been catching a lot of fish. Perch reports have been coming in from the creel bay area and by the sounds of it the size and numbers are both good. We can usually predict how our ice fishing season is going to be by the fall perch bite. The people who have been fishing for perch have been having good luck and are picking up some nice crappies mixed in. I think this ice fishing season you will hear a lot about crappies on Devils Lake.

The early Canada Goose season has been unbelievable. Large numbers of canadas are scattered across the region and it sounds like everybody is having great success. By what I have seen while I have been out scouting it looks like duck numbers are way up and it looks like it is going to be another excellent season.
