set the drag
I was up north fishing this weekend and saw big flocks of geese. I think these were early migrators talking way up their and in the v formation. Is this a good thing or a bad thing. I think its awful early but maybe they are just a bunch of geese with there heels on and dont want to get there ankles cold.
BIGSCHLAG
More than likely these are the young and non breeders that migrate up north to molt up by lake winnipeg and farther to the north towards Hudson Bay. They start migrating north in early june to molt. It is just natures way of getting them out of the way. The same thing happens to most adult male duckson the prairies. They head north to molt. Some lakes contain thousand of ducks, which are almost entirely males.
