I seen that you stuck a 50" pig on a Weagle to boot. Any chance we can see a pic of that piggie? I can only imagine the Weagle was red... haha Must have been tough running a weagle in todays conditions.

Nice fish man.

I guess this means no hell or high water today.

I stuck that fish on Sat the 27th at dusk. I'm curios to if you seen the pics or it was just a post somewhere, I can't remember if I said anything about it. crazy.gif The reason I ask about the pics is my digatal camera was one of the items stolen when I was burglarized on the 29th. So if you seen pics I would like to know who posted them; I have a little sumthin' sumthin' for them. wink.gifThe pics of my fish wasn't really that big of a deal, whats upsets me is two photos of a young man with his first muskie I took on the 28th. I took back up photos with a disposable so I will get them devoleped, scan them, and then have one of you IT guys hold my hand and get them posted.(I still have trouble, I'm from a smalltown smirk.gif) I'm not sure how good of a night photo those click click cameras take, I'm sure you'll see my smile though.

The weagle was not RED sorry to say, it was one of my do it yourself chrome paint jobs, the initail follow came of a RED bucktail so does that count?

I will say this; that was one exspensive fish! I had the fish come in on a bucktail and make about two and a half circles and sink to the bottom of a whopping two feet deep and slip off to the side, In attempts to trigger the fish I grabbed a topwater and just went crazy with it, no results, so while deep in thought performing one of those lazy half hearted figure 8s the thing shot out from the side, smashed the lure and pulled my Loomis against the side of the boat and snapped it off, then made two good laps around the trolling motor. Now I have a mess, after one very entertaining landing I go to unhook the fish and drop the hook cutters in the drink, oh'well they make more right? Out comes the cheapy hook cutters to finish the job...they rest at the bottom with thier cousin. mad.gif Ok. fish is unhooked, lift, photo then while releasing I knock whats left of the Loomis in the drink that has a Calcutta still attached to it...good thing it was only two feet deep and I was wearing shorts. smirk.gif

Today on the big pond was not fun, no fish and sore legs from mother natures version of a water park ride.

Hey Jon I'm not laughing at you, I'm laughing WITH you on that story, it sounds like nothing short of a Chinese Firedrill. Sorry to hear about the rod, that sucks atleast you got the reel back, and the two bolt cutters, now that's just to funny. I hope the fish made up for it, I bet she was a bueaty.

From my point of view, I'd go through all that in a heartbeat for a 50", but that's easy for me to say having not caught a 50" yet.(notice the "yet", I'm optimistic)

I didn't see pics, Jonesi made a post on another site, so I thought I would give ya a congrats.

Laughing is all you can do at that mess! The rod also wasn't a big deal. I called Thorne Bros. up and told them what happened and they had a rod waiting for me at the counter. Few bucks for a replacement fee and out the door went.(I think I might have accidently bought a few baits while I was there smirk.gif) Sad thing is the rod got stolen also, I had not even taken the stickers off of it yet.

Jon, Congrats on your fish. I've only got to 48. Reading your post I definetly can tell you are your dad's kid! grin.gif

I will be back in town and am thinking about heading for Red for gators/grouse around 9/21 through that weekend.

After reading the above we should probably try to spend some boat time together, chinese fire drill anyone? grin.gif

Yep, I am leaning towards, an early hard frost and some cool weather for the pheasant opener could lead me astray though. I'm seriously heading somewhere north the dates above and haven't decided where to head. I've got four good dudes and two nice boats lined up for some chuckin and should probably start figuring out where we are going confused.gif

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
