Leaders

I broke 2 Windell's wire leaders last weekend while casting. It wasn't like I was being real hard on them or anything. What is everyone's take on the best Musky leaders?

I have had that leader wear out at the eyes and break from long periods of use. I personaly like to use homemade florocarbon leaders with solid steel rings and I put a split ring on them with NO snap. I have had good luck with this setup.

Jon has a good suggestion there, making your own. I don't know that I go through enough of them to make my own. I have found the best off the shelf leader in my opinion are the leaders Thorne Bros makes under thier own name, same solid o-rings Jon speaks of and some great clips if you like that option.

I used the Thorne leaders and really liked them. I just like different lengths for different applications. Plus I toss a leader if it even has the smallest ding in it, so I go through a few.
