Sensitivity Level on Depthfinders???

i have an eagle fishmark 480 and was wondering what is the best level to set the sensitivity at to locate fish. I have been leaving it at 70-80% but sometimes wonder if i should set it lower. What to you guys do?

It depends on where you are, depth, etc. A good rule of thumb is to adjust it as high as you can. If you start to get too much clutter on your screen, back off until it's to your liking. How much is too much depends on how much clutter you're willing to deal with.

Ya it depends on depth and water clarity, even temps. Put it this way, if your picking up clutter from particles in the water your not going to miss any fish so back it down a bit till it clears up.

I have the same unit.. I just use the default settings.. and never have a problem... I am very used to the defaults... so I always have a base reference... I tried exploring the settings but then everything gets relative and difficult to learn (for me).. there is a reset to factory defaults in one of the menus.
