I've never done this before, so all advice would be appreciated?What things should I look for in a bow?How about a reel?Anything else I should know? frabillfisher Posted June 27, 2005 Share Posted June 27, 2005 To start i would recomend just about any cheap compound will work,i set mine at 55 pounds and use a release...for a reel if you dont want to spend alot you could get the wrap up by hand kind for about 18 bucks with an arrow not good for alot of shots but cheap,i use an ams retriever got it for about 55 bucks at Fleet, and to be safe and help prevent whip lash or snap backs you should use ams saftey slides vs. tieing to the back of arrow but it's your call just my 0.02 p.s.
