BillP
Have been trailering to some remote lakes but the black flys are eating us alive. Has anyone had any success with a way to stop them? I have seen repelent for horses. Can you use it on people? or even on your sox
0 bwtrout
That repellent is very toxic stuff, it will kill fish if it gets in the water. Best bet is to pick up some light weight clothing. I found some pants and long sleeve shirts at Cabela's closeout room. Bug suits are another option. Long wool blend socks, high boots, and hats are key. In my opinion sprays just don't cut it in prime bug season.
0 Slyster
Deep Woods OFF! in the green can.. it does work for black flies. Everytime. Just spray your shoes/socks/legs... til they shine! This is the best spray for these flies.
0 BRULEDRIFTER
i hear that dryer sheets tucked under your cap and hanging down over your neck works good (at least for keeping bugs off your neck and face). havent personally tried it but the guy who told me is an old timer with lots of experience in the woods. give it a go and let us know!
