converting to 24 volts

I'm coverting to a 24 volt bow mount and need to run wire to the back of the boat. Should I use 6 guage or 8 guage wire? It's about a 19' run to the back of the boat.

could get by with #8 but use a automotive or welding type cable as they are more flexable, carry more ampacity with less resistance. don't use a standard building type cable that is sold at a home center.
