Howieroch
A few weeks back I picked up this Carstens Puddler duck boat at a garage sale. After reading the fishing from a kayak thread here I came up with some cool ideas for modifications to the boat. The first addition to the boat was a removable seat platform so that I wouldn't have to sit on the floor. I then added a removable trolling motor mount using some holes the previous owner had drilled. I put six oar locks all around the cockpit for holding a rod holder and for a blind when I use the boat for duck hunting. After that I used a garden cart with a broken off handle to make the cart for hauling the boat around. The garden cart is great because I can put the trolling motor battery and other gear in it and then strap the boat on top. All of this moves easily with one hand and no bending over. The boat rides low while I am in it, but it is extremely stable and a blast to fish from. I took it for it's maiden voyage on Foster Arend pond here in Rochester last night.
