any info on how the musky are doin on the lake??

Independence has been getting [PoorWordUsage] pounded this year by muskie fisherman. There were at least 60 boats out there on muskie opener. My partner and I have boated 3 fish out of Indy so far this year, the largest being a 44. You will see alot of follows out there but getting them to bite is another story. The fish out there are really educated when it comes to baits so try something different. Trolling is not my style but it has been proven to boat fish out there. thanks kano, yea we went out on thurs, must have had 10-15 follows,some looked like really nice ones but could'nt get them to bite.then when we were putting the boat back on the trailer another guy comes up and say's he was pan fishin with a regular crappie jig using worms and leeches,on 4 or 8 pound test and said he caught two of them,dont know if it is a tale or not. but if it was'nt i think this weekend i will stock up on crawlers and leeches. thanks for the info and good luck this season. bob

can you get out on independence at any time of the day or are there only certain hours that they allow you use the access

walleye guy, i believe the only access is located in the state park(atleast thats the only one i know of)When i was there on thurs,the hours of the park were 5 or 6:00 am to dusk, and there was a five dollar fee for vehicles with boats. hope this helps you out, good luck on the water bob
