Windy City Walleye Hunter
Down To Earth,I completly agree, I don't think Ozzie should have pulled Garland. If he was in the game, the shenanigans would have never happened. It is a shame that he did not get the win on a clearly bogus call. That ball never reached Konerko at first base and was clearly a foul ball. Shame on crew chief Dana DeMuth for not over ruling that call, he was behind the plate and should have never allowed that bull to go on. Got to give props to Laz Diaz at third base, that was a gutsy call on an obvious "fantom tag" at third. Great job by Blum with the hesistation slide that created the safe call. Not many umps would have had the "stones" to call him safe, even though it was clear that he was. Anyway, the correct team won the game, glad to see Jenks get his first save but sorry that Garland didn't get the win. Move that magic number...GOING DOWN PLEASE!YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD...YES! Swamprat72
Windy, you are correct the 3rd base umpire made the correct call. The home plate umpire really screwed the pooch though, when a ball is played by the first baseman in front of the bag it is the home plate umpire's call and he failed to make it. All in all it was a great 3 game series played by 2 very anemic offensive teams.
Windy City Walleye Hunter
Swamp,I knew there were some people left in MN who knew baseball. Glad you saw it the same. It was nice to win 2 of 3 but they were probably the best three games I have seen this year. I love good pitching and defense.
FI Guide
Windy your not that bad of a guy, you know baseball but since you like the socks that changes everything. But I can say that your pale hose have played great this year despite not having a .300 bat in the lineup.
Windy City Walleye Hunter
FI,I would not have believed that a team without a .300 hitter could dominate like my beloved Pale Hose have. I guess I should have seen it coming since my thumpers have been in the Twinks rearview mirror come playoff time for the past three years! I guess the old saying, "Pitching and Defense" really does win championships...We shall see. Glad to see the magic number go down two more notches last night. YOU CAN PUT IT ON THE BOARD....YES!
