TV BOY
Anyone out there have these hydrolic legs that lift the pontoon boat without a "boat lift"? If you how to they work? Do they effect trailering etc. How would you compare them to a boat lift?
0 Murdock
My folks have a 21' pontoon with the sea-legs and they love them. They are an electric motor over hydraulics. They work great. Tested true due to recent storms and strong winds. Very easy to work. One switch for the front legs and one switch of the back legs. These legs allow people who aren't young anymore to easily take the pontoon for a ride rather than try to fight with a boat lift. These legs are becoming quite popular on most pontoons for the above reasons. I would recomend them to anyone.
0 Murdock
One more item of thought. With sea-legs, the scissor pontoon trailer will most likely not work because the scissor frame rises onto the sea-legs which risks the pontoon droping from the trailer and pinching the trailer between the sea-legs and pontoon itself. A bunk trailer is the way to go with this rig. This isn't logic, unfortunately this was learned thru experience.
0 BIG DS
There is another brand called Tune-ups out of St. Peter that has just hit the market. They are the same concept as Sea-legs but do work on about any trailer. Also, you can lifteach leg seperately if needed in case you are on an uneven bottom or on rocks or something. They will also work with tri-toons without any modifications. This is not an advertisement, just a satisfied customer. I had Sea-legs and now have Tune-ups.
