carpet cleaning

cray

Question

I bought a 1992 alumacraft with greasy carpet. The carpet shows almost no wear but is really oily. I tried powerwashing it at a car wash but it didn't really help. Any suggestions on how to clean it up. I have 2 toddlers that spend a lot of time on the floor.

If you don't know someone with a carpet cleaning machine, you can rent a Rug Doctor machine from more major grocery stores or the hardware store. I think Home Depot does it too.

If you want the upholstry (sp?) cleaning tool for seats or tight places where the floor cleaner won't work then its like $3 more. Get a jug of regualr cleaning soap and they make a de-greaser product that breaks down the grime and oils. These products are biodegradable and safe for the kids once everything is dry.

You'll probably end up spending $40-50, but you get it for a few days so take you rtime and do it right. They work fantastic. I used to own a commercial carpet cleaning business and the rug doctor impresses me still. I no longer have the equipment, but I can tell you you'll pay lots more for a commercial company to do it.

feel free to contact me if you have ?'s
