use of tip ups

looking for any advice on th euse of tip ups... line tackle bait any advice would be great.

I use 10-15 lb. test with a steal leader. My tip ups came with a treble hook. I replaced the treble hook with a #2 circle hook. I read a good article on the circle hook and switched to them. It hooks the fish in the corner of the mouth just about every time. I use walleye or pike minnows and hook them at the dorsal fin. Hope this helps.
