oil/gas questions

LaVoi

Question

I recently bought a boat rigged with a 1994 Evinrude 25 horse. I could not find the oil/gas ratio labeled anywhere on the motor itself and I just wanted to make sure I am mixing properly. This would probably be a 50:1 mix, am I correct? Thanks for any help in clarifying this.

Post 1964 OMC products (Johnnys and 'rudes) are 50:1 as are the Merc's from '60 forward. 60-64 OMC = 24:1 up to 18 horse, 18 on up run 40:1 (bearings are jeweled apparently and don't require quite as much).

Not a marine wrench - just looked it up on the web grin.gif
