This year I bought a 17'1/5' Smokercraft used, love the rig. But it does not always center on the roller style trailer. I always drive the boat on to the trailer if possible. It has bunk style guide-ons. How close to the boat should these be adjusted? I could set them to literally touch, or leave 4" per side. At 4" they just don't center the boat well, especially if there is a breeze and I have to refloat and readjust, which can be a real pain. But how close is too close?
We went to the flats too. I dipped a tire on the rental car onto it just to say I’ve been there, but it was still pretty soft from winter melt. After seeing some moron in a BMW suv get dragged out of the muck I had no intention of repeating his stupidity.
