richy
whats the best way to spool line? take it to the local bait shop or spool it yourself?
Murdock
I would suggest taking it to a bait shop. Gander had a $.01 per foot sale recently and they spool it. Cheaper, easier, and tighter on your spool. Plus, having those boxes/spools of line in your tackle box take up alot of room. Just my opinion.
Deitz Dittrich
Richy-First off, a huge welcome to FishingMinnesota.com, its great to have you with us. You will find a lot of great info on this site!As for line, I really think to each thier own. I change my line enough times during the season that I would put myself in the poor house if I went to a bait shop each time I wanted new line on. Also, many times the line I want is not what they have in bulk spools. There are a few other options. They make the machines that stores use for the consumer.. I believe berkley has one out that is quite affordable. The nice thing is you can put line on and it will not be twisted. All that being said. All I do is put my line on then when I get to the lake I will take my line and just run it behind the boat 100 yards or so and reel it back in.. All the twists will be gone.Good luck and enjoy FM!
