Muskies on Winnie?

Recommended Posts

Im going to give muskie fishing a try this year. My wife got me a sweet rod and reel for christmas and i've been picking up a few lures here and there. The one place i'll probably fish the most is Winnie. We go up there the first week of August every year. Im just wondering if anyone here has any expierience on Winnie, if someone could kinda point me in the right direction as too where too maybe start and a few lures you've had success on out there. We stay at 4 seasons in the mouth of the Mississippi and i do most of my walleye fishing up the west side up towards Ravens and up too Stony point. Any help getting started is much appreciated.

any of the west side weedbeds in 1-12fow are good from 4-seasons up past ravens. work the edges of ravens for suspended fish too. trolling with bucktails or some jerk baits works well they wont fowl in the weeds to much otherwise we use

super shad raps, suicks, phantoms and twitch grandmas.

also if you slow retreve a beliver on thh shallow eye it dives 1-4ft and is a killer. all these baits are in perch and walleye color the bucktails work better with a copper or gold blade good luck
