Cribs, adding them to your lake

JBonMiltona

Question

Hi,

I am wondering if anyone knows what the rules and regs. are for adding cribs (natural-brush piles or non-natural-weighted plastic tubes) to a lake. Do you need a permit? Obviously a person can't construct a 4000lb, 25ft high crib and drop it in 22ft of water.

Any info or experience people have would be appreciated.

Thank you,

I am almost positive that this is allowed with a permit. I would call the DNR. I think they are concerned about it obstructing boat traffic and the fact that the structure is needed.
