LMITOUT
I'm in the process of putting a new dash on my single console Alumacraft, but I'm not sure how to get the steering wheel off. I removed the hub cover and the nut on the steering shaft, but the wheel is still retained some how. Any suggestions???
0 Valv
You will have to get a little rough on it. It's a tapered shaft with key in it, and wheel gets stuck often.Try hitting the back of wheel with a rubber mallet, or if you can get a puller it will help.Have patience, it will eventually come off. 0 LMITOUT
Thanks Valv! I figured you would have an answer. I was thinking I would have to use a puller to break it free. There isn't a whole lot of support on the dash/console so I didn't get too aggressive on it.....yet!
