Has anyone fished for cats on the river in Hastings? I have a boat but wouldn't be opposed to just fishing off shore. I've never fished the area, I just moved here last year.

If it's worth fishing what kind of cats are out here, flats, channels or a combination of the 2?

You have the combination of the 2.. the area can be very good. Some areas near the hastings dam is only going to be accessable by boat.. there are some deep holes out there that fished were stacked in as of a week ago, most likely cats.
