Early season bass trip to Iowa Great Lakes

Hi All,

I was thinking about a pre-Minnesota bass season trip to the Iowa Great Lakes region...

Of course, this would be after ice out,and as water warms, hoipefully in around a month or so

Anyone here have any experience or suggestions in the area?

Try the canals on west okaboji. Usually good right away.

Some of the shallow rocky area's can be good for smallies on big spirit in April. Canals can good on west for largemouth. Also east, upper gar, and Minnewasta can be good for largemouth as they smaller and fairly shallow. If you like white-bass try East.
