Pike fishing mono or braided line?

It seems like a lot of people use braided line for throwing big baits like suicks and big spinnerbaits for pike. I have always liked mono but last year I switched to tough line. Does anyone still use use mono for big baits like these? I seemed to have more success with the mono in hooking and getting strikes. Any thoughts. Thanks

Technically you should get better hooking power with Braid, with no or little line sretch.

I still use mono for Pike however not for all the presentations. I use mono for cranks and topwater presentations but I use PowerPro for spinnerbaits and spoons. The heavy mono floats thus giving you better action on many of your topwater baits. The braids work great for heavy cover situations when you need to pull fish out of the weeds.
