Jig
I have a group of buddies planning on going up to Cormorant Lake Lodge in Northern Manitoba. Wondering if anyone has stayed at the resort and/or fished the lake? Thanks, Jeff
Canuck
Jig: I havn't stayed at Cormorant Lake Lodge and really not sure were it is. I used to fish Clear Water Lake and Cormorant Lake several years ago but we just camped. I am thinking Cormorant Lake Lodge should be on Cormorant Lake which is just east of Clear Water (The Pas). We would stay at Clear Water and normally fish for Lake Trout and then drive up to Cormorant Lake for walleye. One of the better ares we found was under the train tressel or go to the east end of the Lake and fish the river that exits the Lake. A word or caution, there are wicked reefs and make sure U get good directions before U head across the Lake. If time of concern I would sugguest U hire a local guide or even a local fisherman for a day and take a good GPS and follow your track. It really depended when we fished corormant and found the spring (early June) the best time. There areas where U can get big jacks (sorry Northerns) in Cormorant and Clear Water as well. This may not be too much help but hopes it helps some. If U are headed through Wpg sugguest U stop at Lockport and give the channels a few hrs (even 4), U won't regret it. Fargo is only 3 hrs south of Wpg.Good Luck
