Bob Horn
Is there any safe ice around? We didn`t get much of a ice season this year. I just might have to move north for the winter.

Bob Horn
It`s not good. There are a few lake that have ice left but I would fish Minnesota and not chance it here.
MuskyMark
I'll go out on a limb here and definitely answer this question with "No, there is no longer any safe ice left in Illinois." But I hope the muskie fishing starts picking up soon. I'll post a report after the tournament this weekend on the Fox Chain.
Captain Ken
Mark Yup, ice is gone Good luck this weekend. I usually fish it, but just too much happening this spring. So, I will have to catch the fall one. Throw a plug or two by the channel in Catherine for me. Capt Ken
MuskyMark
I'm on it Ken. Thanks for the tip. I'll give a report when it's over. Maybe I'll see you at the fall event.
MuskyMark
Fished the Fox River Valley Muskies Inc Challunge on the Chain Tournament this Saturday. 16 fish caught total. I think there were around 75 boats fishing. Pretty nice day to be out on the water actually. No huge fish registered... the winner was 39 inches. Heard some pretty reputable reports of people seeing and even losing some big fish. Personally, me and my partner didn't have much luck. Had one rip and saw one other fish. We gave 'em everything we had too. Fortunately, most other people I talked to had more action than we did. Could use the water temperatures heading in an upward direction, as I think the cool weather has slowed things down a bit. All in all, I had a great time at this event. Seemed like everyone else did too. Mark
