TRANSDUCER BITE!?

Recommended Posts

I HAD MY MARCUM IN THE WATER...TRANSDUCER ABOUT 4 INCHES BELOW THE ICE. AS ALWAYS THERE WAS SOME INTERFERENCE NEAR THE SURFACE, WHICH I IGNORED. I HAD JUST REELED UP AND CHANGED THE MINNOW ON MY CRAPPIE RIG AND WAS ABOUT TO LOWER IT INTO THE HOLE....WHEN "BAM" MY DEPTH FINDER JUMPS TOWARDS THE ICE HOLE. I COULDN'T FIGURE WHAT I DID TO MAKE THAT HAPPEN SO I LOOKED DOWN THE HOLE AND THERE WAS A GOOD SIZED NORTHEN THERE. THE CRAZY THING HIT THE PUCK! ANYONE ELSE EVER HAVE THAT HAPPEN? MY BUDDY SAID IT HAPPEND ONCE TO HIM TOO. THAT WAS THE DARNDEST THING. (I HAD A GOOD SIZED SWEDISH PIMPLE WITH A MINNOW AND 4 INCHES OF BRAIDED SUPER LINE AS A LEADER ON ANOTHER ROD. HE NAILED IT AND TOOK OFF... "POP" IT WAS GONE. AS SOON AS THE LINE "POPPED" MY CRAPPIE LINE THAT WAS IN THE OTHER HOLE JERKS THE ROD OUT OF THE BUCKET NEXT TO ME. [THAT LITTLE MINNOW WAS AT 14 FEET]...THE ROD FLYS INTO THE HOLE AND CATCHES ON THE REEL JUST LONG ENOUGH FOR ME TO GRAB IT. I REEL UP AND HAVE THAT FISH AGAIN..BUT ONLY FOR ABOUT 2 SECONDS. JUST THOUGHT YOU MIGHT HAVE WANTED TO HEAR THE REST OF THE STORY crazy.gif)

I had a muskrat grab my shiner and bite the line off my rattle reel last time I was out. I then left my house to fish on the open ice for a while and when I returned, there was a nice sized pile of weeds near the hole he popped up in. I guess my fish house is prime lake property to muskrats! wink.gif
