6715....you are correct sir! Having been there myself on more then one occassion, I have a few tips for those that need them, about how to fall through the ice.

Tip #1....Walk on it when it is very thin and jump up and down, thats sure to get you through! Done that one when I was a kid.

Tip #2....Walk on ice that has a current under it, you are sure to find the thin spot and plunge into the icy water! Done that one when I was a teenager!

Tip #3....Walk on late season ice that is all black, honey combed and weak, you will go through no problem! Done that one when I was an adult!

That is why I don't win the lottery, used up all my luck getting out of stupid situations!

I guess I look at falling through the ice as more of a big deal then you guys. I hope your luck doesn't run out. frown.gif You guys talk like it is something that shouldn't be taken seriously. Just heard about a 85 year old guy that feel through and died, wonder how many times in his lifetime he was out on the ice. I hope you at least watched the video.

Last year duck hunting I fell through in four feet of water. I was pulling the Jon boat on the ice behind me when without warning, I thought I would hear a crack or something, I dropped down. The boat kept sliding and pushed into me and nocked me down filling the waders with water. I felt the instint shock of the cold water and experienced some of what he was talking about in the video as I took the long trip back to the truck to warm up. I learned respect for ice cold water that day and am glad to see someone like him getting the word out about how to re-act in what could be a life ending situation.
