East Rush Rules
Hey guys, I was just wondering who custom paints your guys's decoys? I think it would be a pretty good idea since i could get an edge over everybody else with the realism. Just wondering who and how much! Any help would be very appriciated. JerknPerchSD
I hunt over hardcores mostly so I have no need to have custom painted dekes, however, I know of someone who can make a standard Big Foot or Avery look amazing! This kids name is Nick Johnson from New Brighton MN. He does custom painting of all decoys and they do look great. His HSOforum is (That's right...NO unauthorized links) sorry for posting the link. Anyway, check out the pics of work he has already done, good stuff Andy
IceHawk
As far as custom painting decoys, We usally only try to paint our snow windsocks. We usally try to make some look like juvys blues etc. I have yet to try honkers. I might try some of my Canada Northwinds. You can make stencils for patterns or you can buy some. Jim Jones does some custom painting on windsock mallards, snows and canadas that is unreal they look real lifelike.Jerk-n-perchSd is right about Hardcores they are probably the most realistic canada decoys out there. I personally haven't been able to add any to my spread yet because of the cost but I'm hopeing that in the future I can.
