Firemans Derbie

Is the Firemans Derbie this weekend, and if so how did it go? Should have pretty good weather for it this year. Please post any info CAJ

The derbie was this last weekend...think they said 70 fish caught....i was right by two people who were on the top 5 for walleye...winner was 7lbs....i dont think alot of perch were caught, head more on the walleye's...

I have been trying every year to get tickets for that Derby and the prizes. Guess I will have to start now, so I remember to get a ticket. I have been there when 1 prech was weighed in and all the prizes had to be drawn for. Still a good time. CAJ

The tourney was great the biggest walleye was 7.10 and the smallest for the payout was 6.4 some pretty nice walleyes. It was a great time out there didn't get cold that was the best. I think 17 walleyes were caught totall The only thing I didn't care for was the rules on the tourney. They said the legal way to fill the northern division was to go by the original tickets. It should have gone to the people actullay fishing the tourney with the little tickets you got when you enter the lake. probably some of the people that were sitting a home and NOT on the lake won 1,2,3,4,5. and they didn't even have to wet a line. Thats what I fell was not fair. I drove 200 miles to come to fish and I could have stayed home and had just as good as a chance.

I don't remember what local TV channel we were watching but they were out there & interviewed a few people. Looked like a good turn out and they were having fun!
