Silverado Springs???

Ruegs23

Question

I bought a used 2000 Chevy Silverado, and everytime I stop or go the springs creak on the darn thing. From the way it sounds this is a pretty common problem with this year of truck. Does anyone have a solution for this? I've talked with a couple mechanics and I was told thats just the way they are. PLEASE HELP!

You may have lost the inserts that go in the leaf. They are an insulating disc that stop the squeak. Check the front of the leaf under the shackle. If there is an empty hole replace with GM part # 15604067 they should only cost $3.94 each. We stock them. So I would think any GM truck dealer would have them also. The original inserts were rectangular but the replacements are round.

Hope this helped.
