tomfromblaine

Question

I recently purchased a sportsman's connection cd rom so I could get gps way points then print a map, but when trying to run the darn thing all the letters and words get all streched out, the screen starts to lock up. I've got at least twice the requirements needed to run this thing. Is it possible to have a bad cd? any of you guys tryed this disc?

If you were able to install the software off the CD, you probably don't have a bad CD. Based on what you are saying, you may have a screen resolution issue. Check on the requirements if there is any mention of screen resolution settings. Many applications are developed for a specific monitor resolution setting (e.g. 800x600). You can test this by changing your monitor resolution as follows:

Start->Settings->Control Panel->Display

Click the "Settings" tab

Under the "Screen area" section you can scroll to change the resolution

However, I would recommend registering your software so you can contact their tech support (URL's below). Not only will you be entitled to support, it looks like you also get one major product update for free if you register.

Register your product:

Good luck!
