Finn-Hunk
I believe your friend is right. They changed the law last year for the northern part of the state that allows you to fish in your house as long as you are in it.
iffwalleyes
I believe that is more a unwritten rule. I have contacted the DNR with that question before and they said that no the house was to be off. But, I have heard of others doing it without at problems. I would contact the DNR they are usually fairly quick to respond to questions. Suprised me the first time I did this. P.S. I just sent a question to the DNR about this once I have a response I will post it here.
vikingtom
I think u have to have it off by midnite until 1 hour before sunrise. Page 59 of the Minnesota fishing book. He can fish all nite until March 15 if he is north of the line which is hwy 2.
Finn-Hunk
Outdoor news may 21,2004, under the current legislation "a person may have a fish house or dark house on the ice between midnight and one hour before sunrise on waters within the area(where a March 15 removal deadline is set) but the house may not be unattended those hours.
