Hey Dan, I fished the fork Wed and Thurs mornings. I found your spot, thanks for the tracks. Was alittle of a walk, but well worth it. Caught lots of Lakers, but lost many, many more. (That's the topic of another post!) What's the biggest Mac you've heard of there? My largest was 21in. but catching lots 0f 18-19ers sure makes for a fun morning. Thanks again for the spot, and hope you and your family had a great X-mas.

I will be heading up early Saturday morning. If anyone wants a ride, we could meet at the parking areas at I-70 @ the Morrison exit. I don't have room for another shack though. I'll be driving my red F-150 super crew with the Rokon on the back. I'll park @ the East boat ramp and go from there. Drop me an e-mail if you want to get together.

I also had a good day at the Fork. I caught a really nice Rainbow and a ton of Laker's. (chartreuse color of choice)Dan, straight across the lake fron the east boat ramp is where I use to have good luck for pike.

As I was dragging my gear back to the east boat ramp, I stopped and talked to a guy in a fishtrap. But,he said fishing had been slow to that point. I saw Ice's truck and Dan's truck, but I had no idea where and who they were.

I never saw Ice's truck. I saw a Ford crew cab with a cab over camper and a Chevy with a camper, both were white. I was the guy riding around in the afternoon on a motorcycle, looking for Pike. Stopped and talked to a guy in a guide ,but it wasn't Ice. Met a couple guys from Sportsmans Warehouse in Aurora. One guys name was Tony. Mike was out there somewhere also.

Fished The Fork today. Same spot as always. Caught around 40 Macs. Couldn't fish 2 rods because the action was so fast. Tried for Pike again after noon with no success. Traffic really was terrible on the way back. Fished Granby on Friday and Saturday with only 5 fish each day. Nothing to enter in the contest. Just waiting for that phone call, tellig me that I won that Pickup or a snowmobile in the raffle! wink.gif

We'll be crossing our fingers for you Dan! wink.gif. So how was the Derby this year? We will probably be fishing this weekend at the Fork the 6th & 7th. How was the snow and slush on top of the ice?

Will be fishing Williams Fork on Sunday & Monday if anyone interested. Will be going to Dan's hot spot, then maybe try to find some pike.

Speaking of pike, has anyone heard of a pike being caught there this season?? I haven't but would like to change that wink.gif.

Dan,

I'm glad we finnaly had a chance to meet. Hopefully we'll get a chance to fish together either this winter or this summer. I fished with three buddy's Sunday untill noon and only caught 4 macks all small. We fished near Elephant Island just off some submerged humps I marked with my GPS last year. I spoke to a couple of Rangers checking licences Sunday and they said no one they had talked to that day was doing any better. I did go to the drawing Sunday afternoon and didn't win any raffle prizes. Oh well there's always next year. I left a message for the Granby Chamber to get the web site so everyone who didn't attend the drawing Sunday can see who won and the weight of the winning fish. As soon as I hear back from them I'll let everyone know.

Dan,

I've been recovering from this Killer Flu that's going around. I really wanted to try and get up to the Fork and fish this weekend, but I just haven't fully recovered yet. I hope you do well. Let us know.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
