Glacier 2-Man portable

Predator

Question

I was looking at them online and wondering if anyone has any opinion on them? Looking to pick up another shelter this year for when I am out solo and/or the very few times I may have the fiance with. I have a bigger Clam for when I am out with one or more other guys, but it is really not very practical for when it is just me. Not a big fan of the flip-over styles, either. Looking for something light that will not take up a lot of space and it looks like the Glacier might fit the bill. Concerned, though, that (at only 20lbs) it may not be real sturdy/durable. Any thoughts?

Predator, I have a Glacier III and while it is very light, I have found it to be very durable and well made. You absolutely must anchor this unit because of it being so light. It blew over on me once while I was sitting on a chair on the sled. Besides my self, I also had a Trojan 31 series Deep Cycle battery sitting on the sled and those babies take 2 men and a boy just to pick them up. With all that weight, a strong gust of wind still blew me over, creating a hellacious mess in my fish house. Personally, I think it is a well made portable, ideal for 2 people to fish from. If you have any further questions, feel free to shoot me an email at [email protected]

I have the Glacier III and can't say enough good about it. I usually fish alone and it is easy to load and unload from my truck. Loads of room, even if I take a friend along fishing. Sets-up easily, but does need to anchored. This is my 3rd year with it and there is no wear evident on it, so it is very durable. Get either the II or III and you won't be sorry.

Thanks for the replys. I think I might have to pick one up. Looking at the Glacier II. Figured I would need to anchor it since it is so light. What do you find is the best method for anchoring the Glacier models? I am heading down to Cabelas this week and I was thinking of trying the Ice Loks(sp?) that I have seen on their site. I have also seen a few other products/methods for anchoring them down. Just curious if there is something in particular that works well for the Glaciers. Thanks, again.
