theonz
I just finished assembling my fish trap yukon and i have a problem. I pulled the canvas tight untill the front bar is just of the ground like the directions said. I then put that rubber seal 3/4 around the tub to seal the canvas. I went inside the house and started puting the support bars in. When I came to the two that are supposed to stick into the tub and support the back they came up short. When I tried to force them to work the front of the shack raises and I get a draft. Did I get faulty poles being to short or did i do something wrong? Northlander
Did you do it in a warm place? Canvas should be warm when assembling. Also check and make sure you put the correct poles in the correct spots on the tub. Some are just a bit shorter than others. You will have a real tight canvas till ya break it in. Check out soderbloom for some "snakors" to put on your aprons. they will hold them down for ya. If you cant get in a warm spot turn your heater on in the house and set some weight in the tub and on the aprons. This may help relax the canvas a bit. Greg Clusiau
I just put my Yukon togther today in the basement. When I installed the weatherstripping, I had the two tub-support poles you speak of in place and pulled the fabric down until it was tight and eveything worked out pretty good. I wasn't too concerned with the front "porch" poles because I wanted them to be lying on the ground just to make sure that there was no place for the wind to sneak in. Matt Breuer
I did the same thing with my forst Yukon I put together, the poles didn't touch. The second I put together like Greg said and it worked great. Northlander's right, Snakors are a must these days!
fishfearme
The last batch of yukons that came out all have short poles for the rear. About three inches short. I would call clam corp first thing monday morning. Their quality control has gone way down hill since they restructured the company. They fired some good people. fishfearme
If you pull the canvas down tight on the rear poles it raises the front poles. That isn't right either, the poles were cut short. Measure them and check the specs.
