klbowe
It should work that shallow.Just to get used to your unit I would move a bit deeper and find a area with no weeds.Put on a heavier jig, turn the unit on and slowly turn up the gain until you see the bottom. Then keep turning it up until you see your jig. slowly raise and lowerer it.This should prove your unit is working. Now tie the jig you want to use and repeat. You will get used to it with practice. If in weeds keeping the jig above the weeds adj the gain til you find the jig then lower it. It can be tricky fishing in the weeds with a flasher. keep at it ! CNY Tim
I have fished in the situations you have described and I'll be honest I have used my LX-3 in as shallow as 6' of water. First thing I'd do is check the power connection and the tranducer connections if you haven't already. If you have and there tight and your still not picking up the signal from your jig go a touch higher on the gain but not over 2.5. Check it again and let us know what happened. Try it with a jig that also has a little wider profile that will help to transmit the signal back to the transducer because it will have a wider more reflective area for signal return. Let us know how you made out.
