gophish
what are some things that any of you do differently early season and then adjust to as the year progresses. i've not ever had time to really fish enough to figure these things out until now and am looking for a head start.anything related to fishing depth, lure size/selection, bait used. etc.

gophish
typically we are fishing crappies yet usually this means that we are picking up occasional walleyes off the bottom simultaneously. however, when we look for spot. we have crappies in mind. Deitz Dittrich
early season I will often times look for green weeds, this is shot down by a lake that no longer has green weeds.. but if the lake does, I will start by looking for green weeds. If the lake has a deep hole, as the season progesses the fish will migrate twards that deep hole.. fish may already be migrating twards the edges of the deeper holes, expecially if that hole is holding some green weeds still... Good luck!!!
gophish
thanks exudedude, when we were out this weekend there were several different shacks of us in a small area. i chose to set up right on the edge of where i mild sunken island was. we were set up in 17 with the island peaking at 14-15 thinking that we would catch more fish off the edge. yet most the crappies were caught out adjacent to us 25-40 yards away on the flat. we did get into walleys better including a 30" but is this common for the crappies to be more correlated to the flat?
