buzbunni
I'm not sure if I even need to do this, but it seems like it might be a good idea; so...I just bought a used older style Fish Trap one-man flip over(thanks WalleyDundee). No door. I was thinking it might be nice to attach some chain on the flaps to keep the flaps from "a-flappin'" and letting Mr. winter into my cozy space. 1) Do you think this would be beneficial on a small flipover?2) How does one do this? Do you actually sew the chain on? Cut holes in the canvas? I'm not sure of the process. Thanks all.
Ears
I put some 2x2's in my older fish trap. They are not as heavy as chain, but still worked well. If you waned to keep the chain in place, I would think some zip ties may hold it.
Northlander
Take some heavy power pro os something to that effect and sew the chain onto the top edge of the apran. On that house you wont need heavy chain. The most important spots are to the back sides and front. The front chain will hold it down while the back side chain will hold that trouble spot down. If you have someone who sews have them put a extra 6" of apran on it and lengthen the sides so they go about 1/2 way back on the tub. Those back corners were always tuff to seal on my old trap like the one you got. I got rid of my second one because I got sick of losing all my heat every time I had to step outside. They sure were portable though and the sleds were tuff! Good luck with your improvements.
