Do solar chargers work very well? Are they worth the money?

I have a solar charger on my fish house. I really like it, for a couple of reasons.

1. It's just plain stinkin cool to be able to tell people that you have a solar panel on your fish house.

2. It actually does keep my battery charged.

I bought mine at Northern Tool. There are tons of them out there but remember that you get what you pay for. If you want one that will actually charge a battery you're looking at spending $120.00 minimum. Make sure you get one with the anti back flow thingy. That way when your battery is charged it won't flow electrons to the panel.

I really like the convienience of it. I fish all day with the radio on, and sometimes a small TV. At night, the battery is fully juiced to keep the radio rockin and a couple of lights lit.
