Eskimo quickflip II seats

I have an Eskimo quickflip II with the bench seat. Does anyone feel like the backrest is angled too far back on the seat? It is very comfortable, but I seem to want to be leaning a little farther forward to watch my rod and electronics. I find myself not using the backrest and leaning forward until my back is aching! So, Today I am going to take and drill a hole where the backrest hits the base to stop it. And insert a bolt to adjust the stop so the backrest is more straight up and down. Has anyone experienced this?

I have the Grand Caravan (one size bigger than a Quick Flip III) with the bench seat. Love it, and my bench seems to be angled perfect.
