shorefisher
Have any of you used one? Good/Bad? What are your thoughts on them? I am thinking of getting one. Thanks for any info.
mamohr686
When I used to work at scheels I checked one out and fished with it for the day. I didn't mind the vertical display, but a 3 color flasher is much better when a fish comes right in on your lure because it changes to a different color alerting you that there is a fish down there. They are low power units, and the one I was using got a lot of interference from other depthfinders without the ability to supress it like a vexilar or marcum. I say it would be ok if you have no other depthfinders in the house and want something cheap. I suggest you use a marcum or vexilar for a day before you buy it though. Howieroch
I have a Zercom RTS that I use for ice fishing. It's okay for seeing the bottom and your lure, but I would say spend your money on a Vexilar or Marcum. The Zercom will not work very well if there is another depth finder being used anywhere nearby. This year I hope to get a Vexilar fl-18 so I can put the RTS on my boat.
psegriz
I've had one for 7-8 yrs now and like it's simplicity. Boy talk about difference of opinion on interference. Have fished beside other makes and models and have yet to get interfered with. Although mine would really mess up the others.
