Taking the Wife Fishing

My wife has never had much interest in icefishing, I think part of it is the cold weather and her preferring to stay warm.

Last year I purchased our new wheel icehouse and talked her into coming with on a weekend to url, she brought books and a radio to keep her occupied as she didn't think she would enjoy it.

The weekend we choose was cold with the wind blowing and miserable to go outside. To her surprise it was warm and comfortable inside. She relaxed and started reading a book while I started catching Perch and the usual Walleyes. I set up a rattle reel near her and talked her into pulling it up when a fish would hit. As evening approached, the Crappies started hitting and I talked her into fishing for them, she has been hooked ever since. The rest of last Winter she looked forward to our trips to url.

It will be a pleasure fishing with her this season.

my wife likes to fish too, if I let her run the heater.. she likes to melt the ice under the house!!!! I usually end up in shorts pretty quick.. and thats in a portable~!
