Waterfowl and fishing report

Colder temps and strong northern winds have helped to push more snow geese and ducks into the area. Rock Lake,Hurricane Lake and the rugby areas have had the largest numbers so far. Just North of Devils Lake around the Sweetwater Lake area birds are slowly starting to show up. Its getting late in the season and I'm afraid that its probably going to turn out like last year when the birds waited until the last minute to head south and only stayed around the area for a few days.

Fishing on the other hand for the people who have been willing to brave the elements and go out has been excellent. Some of the better areas have been Cactus point,the Towers,Budweiser Bay and Doc Hagens. Not long until we will be out on the frozen pond so get your gear out and get ready! Think Ice!

Thanks for the report Jeff. I was out there a few years ago and we had just a blast. Ducks and geese just every where. Next fall I think my son and I will be heading out that way for a few days.
