jjr
Planning a camping trip in August and wondering about this state park in SE MN. We'll probably do some biking on the Root River Trail, so I'm wondering if this is the best place to stay and how close it is to the trail. Any other suggestions on outdoor activities to do over a weekend? Thanks!
fishmobile
Forestville is a very beautiful State Park, but expect a lot of people there. With the many hiking trails, the Megan Store (run by the Historical Society) and Mystery Cave, there is much to do and see. The bike trail is about 10 miles away (in Preston) and does not directly hook to the park. You should have no trouble keeping busy with a variety of activities. wayner
If you're looking to camp right on the bike trail there is a campground called the Barn that I would recomend. The Old Barn Resort, Rt. 3, Box 57, 55965800-552-2512507-467-2512
