clearwater west or turtle

Recommended Posts

Bob,
Both are great lakes to fish. I have fished Clearwater for the last 20 plus years and we have always had great laker fishing. Lots of 3 to 5 lbers and has produces a couple over 20 for our group. Started on Turtle when it opened again and have caught a walleye over 30 both years. It hard to catch fish under 20 inches. It also has great smallie fishing. While we have not targeted them the ones we have caught fishing walleyes have been 18 to 20 inches! There are many good lakes for catching eating walleye right in the same area. Williamson, Eye. Clearwater also has great smallie fishing. While not as big, a 50 fish day is not uncommon. Also, when you are there WhiteOtter will be open for great walleye and trout fishing. We stay at Brown's and have done so for 30 years!

Bob, If you do not already have them, buy some maps of the area lakes. The tourist stop just south of Atikokan has good ones.
When you get to camp ask Barry to show/mark
some spots and he will be happy to. If you like to fish brook trout be sure to asl about them as there are big specs lurking close by.
