Green Mountain Report from 7 March 04

Recommended Posts

Went and fished Green Mountain, on sunday, still some great ice 20"+ of good clear ice under the 4" of snow on top. Started out in front of boat ramp in 76 feet of water and marked numerous fish on bottom, since I was fishing for lakers (zoom) but they were not at all aggressive. Numerous times swam up to jig looked and went right back down. Downsized both jig and sucker with the same results, changed colors same result. Started drilling new holes around 3:00 for the night bite, drilled about 20 holes starting at 120 feet and worked my way inward to 40 feet. Fished each hole for about 20 minutes and only marked one at 40 feet about 5:00, little laker about 14" with gold swidish pimple with a piece of sucker, and it hit as the pimple was on it's way down. The laker you could see came up from the bottom and inhaled it at about 30 feet. And that's it,one little laker all day long, great sunny day though.
